Poetry Beyond the Stage

Poetry has taken me from open mics and intimate rooms to community programs, cultural events, and stages throughout California and beyond. Along the way, I began hosting, facilitating workshops, curating experiences, and making space for other artists to be heard.

For me, the work is not only about delivering a poem. It is about reading the room, creating trust, and leaving people more connected than they were when they arrived.

Ten Years of NPM 30 for 30

NPM 30 for 30 is a month-long writing challenge held every April in celebration of National Poetry Month. Writers challenge themselves to create thirty poems in thirty days, building consistency while making room for exploration, honesty, and creative growth.

I founded the NPM 30 for 30 Facebook group to give artists a supportive community where members actively write, share their work, encourage one another, and grow together. Throughout the challenge, I provide daily prompts designed to inspire new writing. In recent years, members have received as many as 120 prompts exploring shadow work, different writing styles, and other approaches to creative expression.

What began as a thirty-day challenge has grown into a lasting creative community, inspiring the creation of several books along the way. In 2026, NPM 30 for 30 celebrated ten years of writing together.
