Three Events. Three Cities. Two States. Two Weeks.

Within a two-week period, I curated, hosted, and facilitated three distinct creative experiences across San Jose, Oakland, and Orlando.

The run included a collaborative writing workshop, showcase, and open mic with CreaTV San Jose; Elevated Expressions, a sold-out Orlando experience that I co-curated, hosted, and facilitated; and Black Love: Acts of Revolution, a cultural showcase centering Black love, poetry, music, and community.

Each city, venue, and audience required a different approach. I moved between programming, facilitation, hosting, and event flow while keeping every experience grounded in intention and meaningful connection.

  • Creative Flow Open Mic

    Creative Flow Open Mic

    I co-founded and hosted Creative Flow Open Mic in San Jose from approximately 2013 to 2018, creating a consistent and welcoming space for poets and artists to share their work, connect, and grow.

  • San Jose Day Parties

    San Jose Day Parties

    In 2023, I curated, promoted, and hosted day parties at the venue formerly known as 386 Lounge, in San Jose, shaping the programming, atmosphere, and overall guest experience.

  • Black Love: Acts of Revolution

    Black Love: Acts of Revolution

    From February 2025 through March 2026, I served as the visionary, host, and discussion facilitator for this Oakland cultural experience centering Black love, poetry, music, reflection, and community.

  • Between the Lines

    During National Poetry Month in April 2026, I independently created, curated, and hosted this intimate, in-person writing experience at The Local Collective Market in Claremont. In addition to leading my annual NPM 30 for 30 writing challenge, I brought writers together for an evening centered on reflection, self-expression, and meaningful creative connection.

    World Poetry Day with CreaTV

    In April 2025, I partnered with CreaTV San Jose to facilitate and host a collaborative writing workshop followed by a poetry showcase and open mic.

  • Elevated Expressions

    In March 2025, I co-created, co-curated, and hosted this sold-out creative showcase in Orlando, bringing artists and audiences together through poetry, performance, and community.
